SALT LAKE CITY -- Luther Head will be wearing a Rockets uniform through the 2008-09 season.
Beginning his third season in Houston, Head had his contract option picked up by the Rockets on Wednesday.
The guard, who netted a three-pointer in a team-record 37 straight games last season, is expected to be a part of Houston's nine-man rotation this season. He shot 44.1 percent from three-point range last season -- good enough for the third best percentage in the league -- and averaged a career-best 10.9 points per game.
Head is averaging 9.9 points and 2.6 assists over his career.
