Hornets Coach Byron Scott said his plan was to play Peja Stojakovic about 24 minutes during Monday night's preseason game against the Indiana Pacers.
But Stojakovic played only four minutes after complaining of muscle stiffness. After he shot an airball on his only attempt, Stojakovic went to the bench for the remainder of the game.
Stojakovic missed all but the first 13 games last season after requiring season-ending back surgery.
"It wasn't his back, he was just stiff,'' Scott said. "I think again, he's had one day off that he's taken since the start of training camp, which was two weeks ago. He was just stiff with his legs and everything and he took the rest of the night off.''
