MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks have signed second round draft pick (56th overall) Ramon (ra-MAHN) Sessions to a multi-year contract, General Manager Larry Harris announced today. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. In July at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Sessions played in four games for the Bucks, averaging 5.8 points and 2.5 assists per game.
“Ramon was an excellent college point guard and we think he can develop into a solid pro,” said Harris. “After watching him perform for our Summer League Team and getting to know him this summer, we felt he would be a strong addition to our backcourt.”
Sessions (6-3, 190lbs) enjoyed a successful three-year playing career at the University of Nevada, earning Second Team All-WAC honors during his junior season, in addition to being named a finalist for the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award. During the 2006-07 season, he was third on the team in scoring (12.3), second in rebounding (4.7) and first in assists (4.7, second in the WAC).
Sessions, 21, finished his collegiate career with 850 points, 410 rebounds, 478 assists, and 113 steals. He started in 94 out of 97 games during his three years and currently ranks 2nd in Nevada history in assists and 9th in steals.
